A pirate's life (Prototype)
A downloadable game for Windows
A pirate's life is a card game with a deck building system. It's a card game inspired by historical pirates and the tales of their daring adventures.
It's currently an early prototype with almost no assets that aren't stock or "greyboxing". The AI is also as basic as possible, which means that the game shouldn't be difficult to win. I would love feedback on the systems and I would love to hear about any bugs that you run into.
There's currently no in-game menu explaining how the game works, so I will quickly summarize it here.
The game has three different types of cards, Ship, Crew and Ability. Ships are played on board and you always start with one since you lose if all your ships in play are eliminated. Crew has to be played on Ships with available Crew slots, when a ship has filled all its Crew slots, it can begin firing, dealing a lot of damage. Ability cards can always be played.
You have two types of actions, Card plays and Ability plays (Ability cards use up Card plays, I know that it's a bit confusing, I will probably rename these at some point). Firing with your Ship card or using a Crew card's ability uses Ability plays, whilst playing any card uses Card plays.
The winner is the first to destroy all Ship cards the opponent has in play.
